CA® Clear Aligner is a transparent splint system that has been developed to almost invisibly correct the position of the teeth. The system allows aligning the teeth smoothly, without metal orthodontic elements like clasps or brackets. Instead you’ll be wearing a transparent resin splint, almost undetected by your surroundings.

Your Certified CA aligner Doctor will fabricate your splint individually. During the treatment, the splint will be switched several times, ensuring that each splint will be adjusted to your individual treatment progress and that your teeth are corrected efficiently step by step. As a result, you get a comfortable way of aligning your teeth without any speech problems and optimal treatment results at the same time.

The advantages of the CA® CLEAR ALIGNER splints compared to the fixed orthodontic appliances:

  • Are transparent and almost invisible

  • Can be taken out at any time

  • Are easy to clean

  • Won’t affect your speech

  • Are made individually for you and adjusted to your treatment progress regularly

  • Are normally comfortable to wear

What is the treatment process?

Consultation

On the first appointment your doctor examines your teeth position, verifying whether your case can be treated by the CA® CLEAR ALIGNER splint system. A panoramic x-ray will be needed, as well as some pictures of the current condition. In order to fabricate a model, an impression of the teeth will be taken by the dentist. A 3D treatment plan will be prepared by the lab and presented to you on your next visit along with the treatment period time required and cost.

Splint Fabrication and Adaptation

If you decide in favor of the CA® CLEAR ALIGNER treatment, the first step of your teeth correction will be computer-simulated. Your dentist will initially fabricate three CA® CLEAR ALIGNER splints.

The next time you will come to the clinic, you will receive the first set of CA® CLEAR ALIGNER splints along with instructions of your dentist. In most cases resin buttons must be attached on some teeth as well as a minor interproximal reduction between the teeth. This is necessary in order to create space between the teeth so that they shift into the right position and alignment during the treatment. Your doctor will carefully check the fit of the first splint. During the insertion and adjustment of the splint in the mouth, you will feel a slight pressure on your teeth.

First wearing step

During the CA® CLEAR ALIGNER treatment you’ll be wearing three splints in each step, consisting of different material thicknesses. During the first week you’ll wear a soft splint, making sure your teeth can easily get used to the pressure applied by the correction.

The 2nd week you’ll wear a slightly thicker medium splint, followed by a hard splint in week three and four. This method ensures a smooth and careful correction of your teeth.

The splints should be worn at least 20 to 22 hours per day in order to assure the best results in the schedule treatment time. They are taken out just for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. The aligners should be cleaned twice daily at the same time you brush your teeth with gentle liquid soap. We also encourage you to rinse under lukewarm water every time you take them out to minimize bacteria accumulation.

Treatment progress and Result

After having worn your first set of splints for three weeks, your doctor will take another impression to examine the progress of your teeth position during the treatment and to fabricate the next set of splints. This procedure will be repeated until the desired result of your treatment has been achieved. After treatment, a retainer wire is bonded on the interior of the upper and lower front teeth. Additionally, a retention splint is recommended to be worn at night for approx. 2 weeks to ensure the treatment result.

The duration of the treatment depends on the individual’s tooth position and mostly on the patient’s cooperation regarding the wearing time. On average the alignment will last 6-8 months.
