The procedure is simple and it doesn’t require more than 2-3 visits to the dentist’s office. At first, impressions of your mouth are taken and a thin, custom-made, gel-holding appliance called “tray” is made. At your second visit, you will be fitted with your tray and provided with a special whitening gel. A small amount of the gel is placed in the tray and is worn for 6-8 hours each day, for 7-15 days.
This procedure is used in conjunction with an in-office 45-minute whitening session. In the office, the dentist will firstly apply a substance that covers and protects the gums around the teeth. Then, a special whitening gel is applied to your teeth, which is renewed every 15 minutes.
Whitening is not a permanent solution. However, if you follow the instructions of Oral Hygiene the result will last for a long time.
